Mark your calendars now for the 2nd annual Founders Day banquet scheduled for February 28, 2009. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, and they hope to recapture that same spirit again while enjoying an evening of friends, food and fun as they celebrate the Fraternity’s history and the contributions of the Gamma Rho brothers. Further details and RSVP information will be forthcoming.
The association continues to develop the Alumni Connections Program which helps undergraduates find mentors and make connections in fields where they are interested in seeking employment. The first event in this program was a session of career discussions held over Homecoming weekend, providing undergraduates and alumni an informal setting to review career options, discuss experiences and share advice. Several alumni have volunteered their time to make this program a success, but the association is still looking for more participants to help expand the program.
Monthly association luncheons alternate between the first Friday and the first Saturday of each month, allowing a larger number of alumni to participate. The association corresponds through an email list which is used to update alumni on upcoming events and association news. If you are not receiving news from the association, visit www.nupikes.com/ and click on the “alumni” link to update your contact information. ZETA CHI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Missouri State

The Zeta Chi Alumni Association held its annual meeting in Springfield, Missouri, in October 2008, with over 30 alumni taking part in the festivities amidst the beautiful fall weather in the Ozarks. The group enjoyed a Friday night reception, a Saturday morning meeting, a pre-game tailgate party at Bearfest Village and a Saturday evening gathering at The Venice.

In addition to all the fun, efforts continue to recolonize the Zeta Chi Chapter at Missouri State University. There is a chance that the university will expand its colonies in 2009, and the association plans to be prepared for the opportunity when it is available, which includes growing the association’s membership to 200+ by early 2009. Now is the time to join or renew your membership in the alumni association. During the October 2008 annual meeting, it was obvious to all that recolonization goes far beyond the opportunity to enrich the college experience for future generation. Rather, the bonds built in college pay off in large measure through the continued support systems the brothers and their families find in one another beyond graduation. The annual alumni association membership runs from March 1-March 1 of each year, and it is easy for alumni to join by using PayPal. Visit www.zetachipikes.com for updates, news and association membership information, or contact Jim Roebuck ’81at 417-882-3266.
