The 34th annual reunion of Zeta Lambda brothers was held in conjunction with Homecoming at Adrian College. ALABAMA
Gamma Alpha

Barry Phelps ’84 is the managing writer-editor for the United States Mint’s Office of Sales and Marketing, Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining the Mint, Phelps served in various writing and communications positions with the Department of Homeland Security, Vice President Al Gore’s National Partnership for Reinventing Government, Small Business Administration, and the U.S. Senate. His projects at the U.S. Mint include the popular 50 States Quarters, Presidential/First Spouses and Native American $1 Coins, as well as the 2009 Double Eagle Gold Coin programs. Dabo Swinney ’89 is the head football coach for Clemson, a position he took over in mid October. Swinney had previously served the team as assistant head coach and receivers coach.

ALBERTA
Lambda Epsilon

Max Voykin ’04 has had a busy 2007/2008 on the West Coast. After a successful eight months of managing the members of an exclusive private sport and leisure facility in the heart of Vancouver, The Arbutus Club, he left the club to again pursue his sports event planning endeavors. This past summer he successfully delivered the 2008 North American Indigenous Games on Vancouver Island which acted as a smooth segway to joining the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He is now eager to be a part of these events in his home province of British Columbia.

Ralph Gill ’71 resides in Fort Worth, Texas, where he has accepted a new job as marketing director with HealthSmart, an up and coming nationwide healthcare solutions provider located in Irving, Texas. He may be reached at Ralph@texasreds.com.

Gary Masters ’85 is the sales manager for Fit For Work, an occupational health and industrial medicine practice. In this role Masters will support sales, develop and implement sales strategies and processes to educate clients on safety, risk management and proper working conditions. He is a Deacon in Training at North East Bible Church in Garden Ridge, Texas. Masters resides in Cibolo, Texas, with his wife, Kellie, and their daughter, Ashleigh. Boyd Campbell ’97 is a senior executive search consultant with Lucas Group. He is in the San Diego search division where he leads the steel pipe search practice for Lucas Group, specializing in placing top talent in sales and engineering roles for world leading companies at the executive and managerial levels on a national and international basis.

Cal Slayton ’88 and his wife, Heather, announce the birth of their first child, Jack Ryan, on August 29, 2008. The family lives in Allen, Texas, where Slayton is a graphic designer, freelance illustrator and part-time comic book artist. He may be reached at www.calslayton.com.

Bob Earwood ’76 was among the four individuals honored by the ASU Alumni Association in their 25th year of recognizing distinguished alumni. Every year the alumni association board selects individuals based upon their community service, service to ASU and their professional achievements. During his college years, Earwood was a 4-year letterman on the ASU football team and was elected captain of conference champion team in 1978. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree, he formed Earwood Contractors, and along with the ASU Alumni Association, he assisted with the design and construction of the new Cooper Alumni Center. He also helped the athletic department in the design and construction of the football field house. Earwood is the past president and long-time member of the ASU Alumni Association Board of Directors. He resides in Collierville, Tennessee, with his wife, Tammy, and their daughter, Natalie.

John Mitchell ’91 and his wife, Marissa, welcomed their daughter, Tatum Grace, on August 1, 2008. Mitchell works at Canyon High School-New Braunfels, coaching receivers and also serves as the head strength and conditioning coach.

Robert Weller ’83 was appointed chief of technical analysis at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. His office is responsible for providing the scientific and engineering support necessary to bring new communication technologies to market, analyzing compatibility between competing uses of the radio spectrum and ensuring that communications technologies have no significant effect on the environment.

Patrick Carr ’04 backpacked across Europe after graduation, and was able to see many Pi Kappa Alpha brothers from around the world during this adventure. He now lives in Chicago where he is working as an instrumentation and controls systems engineer for Sargent & Lundy, a company that provides comprehensive consulting, engineering, design and analysis for electric power generation and power delivery projects worldwide. Jon Beamer ’93 and his wife welcomed their son, Jonathan Robert, in June 2008. The family resides outside Washington, D.C., in Haymarket, Virginia, where Beamer is the legislative and political liaison for Nokia.

Eric Holmes ’00 and Allison Parker were married on August 16, 2008. The couple resides in Denver where he is a regional vice president with Jackson National Life Distributors.

Andrew Anderson ’04 graduated from Colorado State with a B.A. in Political Science, and then commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He is now a 2nd lieutenant and a first year law student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Upon graduation, he plans on pursuing a career as a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps.

Jason Berman ’88 reports that there is a Colorado State Pike alumni group on LinkedIn. Since April, brothers have been joining the group which currently has 65 members. You may join the group by searching LinkedIn for Colorado State Pike alumni.

Chris Leebelt ’92 is the president of Precis E-business, a business he began ten years ago upon graduation. Today, Precis is an industry leader in strategic web marketing.

Thomas Buttrick ’91 is a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army. Michael White (Tulsa, Gamma Upsilon ’95), also a 2nd lieutenant, administered the oath of office to Buttrick at his commissioning ceremony at Fort Benning, Georgia, on July 31, 2008. Buttrick and White originally served in the Army together while studying Arabic and Dari at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.
