Marc Beaule ’88 works for Scansource / Catalyst Telecom as a sales engineer. He received the Scansource / Catalyst Telecom President’s Club Award based on 2007 sales accomplishments, his fourth year to be honored with this recognition. Beaule and his wife, Mary, have two sons, Jack and Connor, and they have lived in the Greenville, South Carolina, area for the past eleven years. Ben Barrett ’02 and Andi Rose were married on June 7, 2008. Serving in the wedding party were brothers Edward Watton ’03 who served as Best Man, Jay Piskorik ’00, Bret Schrecengost ’02, and Mario Verticelli ’01 who served as groomsmen. The couple resides in Franklin, Pennsylvania, where Barrett works for Valley Grove School District as a third grade teacher.

Jeremy Koerber ’94 is the fitness center manager of the BJC WellAware Center, an online fitness facility at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Chad Mace ’94 and Jamie Partridge were married on May 17, 2008, and enjoyed a honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. They live in St. Louis, Missouri, where Mace manages the Strategic Alliance Partners for the TALX Corporation.
Michael Sabo ’65 has retired from his surgery practice and has moved to Denton, Texas, to be closer to his four grandchildren. He continues to be a veteran advocate and is beginning work with medical missions. He may be reached at mikeandpatsabo@gmail.com.
Taylor Vernier ’98 and Emily Watson were married in May 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. Vernier, a former vice president of the Lone Star region, recently completed his MBA at the University of Georgia.
James Carlson ’94 is the chapter relations director of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He started with the chapter relations crew in August 2008, understanding that expanding the chapter relations team will enable Phi Kappa Phi to better serve its chapters and chapter officers. William A.F. Stainken ’67 went to work for General Electric Company in Philadelphia after his graduation in 1969, spending five years with them in their management programs. He then spent 20 years in the swimming pool manufacturing, and leisure products distribution as warehouse manager, shipping and receiving, field service and national customer service representative at regional conventions. He also worked in fishing tackle sales, as a substitute high school teacher, heavy equipment construction as a certified concrete tester, photographer, a part-time PGA golf tour caddy and a small town cab driver. Stainken enjoys bowling, fishing, golf, swimming, traveling and collecting sports items and coins. He is now retired and lives in Woodburn, Oregon, living close to his very active 91-year-old mother.
Zachary Carnley ’02 graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 2006 and is now attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas, where he anticipates graduating in May 2009. Charles Houston ’63 is a professor at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia. Houston stated that with the passing of Tom Wade, all Tennessee Pikes lost a most important communicator and leader. He is interested in starting an inCircle group of 60s Zeta Pikes to add to the very active 50s group that Tom Wade started. Roy Williams ’72 has purchased and is developing a new Greek Row near the UTC campus. The land will eventually have houses for three Greek organizations other than Pi Kappa Alpha. The Pike facility is the first one scheduled, and construction should begin in the next six months. Alumni will be receiving more information about the project in the near future.

Brandon Weaver ’93 has been named English Department Chair at Loretto High School. Weaver is also in his third year as coach of the Loretto High School golf team, which took the District and Regional win, and he led them to their first TSSAA State Championship tournament. Kevin Richards ’80 and his business partners have opened a production facility in Mentor, Ohio. He is a vice president and partner in Onward Coatings Company, LLC, which was founded with the purpose of bringing to market PVD alternative coating and chrome plating options to the aftermarket and original equipment wheel industries. Onward’s management team has spent the last three years researching, testing and branding alternative chrome coatings to the automotive industry. Jacob Goodine ’97 has been called up by the Virginia Army National Guard to deploy to Afghanistan as a brigade-level motor officer mentor to the Afghanistan National Army. Collin Smith’03 and Calin Elardi were married on June 21, 2008, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The wedding party included brothers Ellis Wilder ’06, Christopher Geiger ’06 and Nick Knaebel ’01. Instead of wearing boutonnieres, the groomsmen wore their Fraternity pins, which were gifts from the bride and groom. Additional Kappa Chapter Pikes in attendance included Ronnie Brooks ’04, Brian Coleman ’02, Ross Edwards ’06, James Harding ’06, John Kleinschmidt ’00, Cordell Lawrence ’01, Ryan McEwan ’05, Will Ney ’01, Travis Pfeiffer ’05, Tyler Rankin ’03, Alex Roig ’01, and Elijah Truman ’06. Smith was chapter treasurer, vice president and served on the IFC at Transylvania University. He was also a founding member of the Kappa Chapter Alumni Advisory Board, on which he still serves. Matthew Britton ’99 is a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State. In September 2008 he left for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to begin work as the gereral services officer at the U.S. Embassy there. This is his first diplomatic assignment with the State Department after seven months of training in Washington, D.C. He is enjoying the scuba diving, diverse culture and warm island weather in Papua New Guinea. He will have a two year tour there and would enjoy hearing from his brothers at matthewbritton@gmail.com.
