Jason Godin ’00 and Jennifer Khouri were married in June 2008 at Vermont National Country Club. Lambda Delta Pikes in attendance included Mike Barna ’00, Gary Brookes ’00, Noah Cherry ’00, Tom Forbes ’00, Alex Larsen ’00, Jason Morris ’00, Bradley Ross ’01, Chris Sheehy ’00, Michael Weand ’00 and Adam Wolk ’00. Also in attendance was former Lambda Delta alumni advisor and current New England Regional President Loyd Wilbur (Arizona, Gamma Delta ’66).

Paul Felder ’03 and Kelly Eckhart were married on June 28, 2008, in Detroit. The wedding party included Best Man Michael Marcelli ’01 and groomsman Doug Duncan ’98. Other brothers in attendance included Phil Short ’01, Michael Andrzejewski ’02, Josh Dry ’00, Andrew Stevens ’02 and Michael Kaddis ’96.

Steven Purvis ’72 was promoted to supervisory special agent, CSX Railroad Police Department. Purvis was nominated for the Association of American Railroads John H. Chafee Award for Environmental Excellence for efforts in coordination the CSX Police Environmental Crimes Unit. The Chafee Award ceremony was held in the Mansfield Room of the U.S. Senate in the National Capital in April 2008. In attendance were several U.S. Senators, Congressmen, U.S. DOT, Federal Railroad Administration and FBI representatives. Purvis supervises the CSX Police Environmental Crimes Unit, an organization that has received national attention for a unique approach for railroads being good stewards of the environment. He is in his 35th year as a railroad special agent and is stationed at the Augusta Georgia Resident Agency.

Thomas Lennartz ’96 is a graduate of the business administration program, but decided to leave his job in the software industry to pursue a career as an arctic expedition manager for the arctic wildlife expedition company Arctic Kingdom Marine Expeditions, Inc. With an ice diving certification in 2000, he and a friend began leading film and tour groups to the remotest locations of the arctic to capture images of the Beluga whales and polar bears in their native environment.

Theta Sigma

Drew Hicks ’05 is serving with the Marines in Al Asad Iraq under Combat Logistics Battalion 2. Theta Sigma brother Alex Jackson ’05 is also serving with Hicks during this combat tour. Hicks and Jackson received their orders to active duty for pre-deployment training on May 10, 2008, the day Hicks graduated from Winthrop. Hicks, a sergeant, and Jackson, a corporal, anticipate a March 2009 return date. Hicks may be reached at Andrew.hicks@aa.mnf-wiraq.usmc.mil.

Shane Duncan ’94 and his wife, Brandy, announce the birth of their son, Bryson Shane, on February 8, 2008. Bryson Shane joins his sisters, Jordan and Caroline, at their home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Duncan has joined Insource Contract Services of Charlotte, North Carolina, as the director of business development for the South Carolina market. He is interested in establishing an Upstate South Carolina Alumni Association, and would like for all interested alumni in the area to contact him at shane_duncan@hotmail.com.

John Greinwald ’80 was promoted to associate professor of otolaryngology and pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati. He continues to direct the Auditory Genetics Laboratory at Children’s Hospital Cincinnati where he is developing a gene chip to better diagnose the causes of hearing loss in children. The pediatric cochlear implant team, of which he is co-director, completed several studies in collaboration with Cochlear Corporation on the effectiveness of a new generation of cochlear implants. Greinwald retired from the Naval Reserve with the rank of commander after completing 20 years of active service. He continues to serve on the board of People Building People, a nonprofit organization which sponsors both medical and non medical trips to Mexico. He and his wife, Karen, and their children, Emily, Christian, Natalie and Vladimir, enjoy yearly mission trips serving the poor in Mexico. He also continues to serve as a Boy Scout leader and head coach of Fellowship of Christian Athletes affiliated baseball teams.

Andrew Nevins ’03 works with Bruno Event Team and is a volunteer manager for the Regions Charity Classic in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Bell Micro LPGA Classic in Mobile.
