Active chapter size: 139. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention. The endeavor to improve the chapter house has finally been completed. Renovations that began less than a year ago have come to an impressive finish. The great room, the most outstanding facet of the renovations, comes complete with new carpet, ceilings, lighting, and furniture. Downstairs, the oak bar provides a large social gathering area containing two big screen TVs, couches, a pool table, and a masterfully constructed bar. In other news, Upsilon Chapter’s flag football team brought home first place in intramurals recently, their first championship in quite some time. With renovations finished, the social calendar full, academic marks on a rise, and rush continuing to bring in solid guys, this promises to be a great year for Upsilon Chapter.

Active chapter size: 59. The chapter sent one man to the 2008 International Convention. The chapter is entering a critical phase of rebuilding after having their suspension lifted by the university. The alumni club is becoming increasingly active throughout the state, with events in Orlando and Jacksonville, while the active chapter is focusing on building on a strong tradition of leadership and service at the University of Florida. The chapter participated in the two largest philanthropies on campus this fall, and is represented on campus with one brother serving as a student government senator, and another brother serving on the prestigious Florida Blue Key leadership honorary. Chapter officers are also working very closely with the house corporation on plans to rebuild the chapter house at 1904 West University Avenue. Alpha Mu (Georgia)
Active chapter size: 112; pledges: 25. The chapter sent two men to the 2008 International Convention. The brothers of the Alpha Mu Chapter raised over $6,000 for the American Red Cross during their Spike for Life volleyball tournament in the spring of 2008. The tournament consisted of teams of six competing against each other in a double‑elimination format and included teams from nearly every sorority on campus. The ladies of Kappa Delta took home the first place trophy for the third year in a row. Alpha Mu also participated in the Pike International Work Day which provided a great opportunity for alumni, brothers, and parents to get together while making much needed improvements to the house. Alpha Nu (Missouri)
Active chapter size: 95; pledges: 33. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention. Eighteen months ago The Centennial Campaign for Alpha Nu was initiated to raise the necessary funds to provide a complete gut‑rehab of the chapter’s 82 year old house. In the time since, Alpha Nu alumni and undergraduates have responded generously. To date, 263 brothers have made gifts totaling more than $771,000. Campaign volunteers are working diligently to ensure that the campaign goal of $1,000.000 is met. Chapter members have vacated the house for the 2008‑09 school year; living in off‑campus apartments while the demolition and renovation are completed. That did not stop the men from having a great fall rush, and they are aiming for a third consecutive Homecoming title. The Alpha Nu alumni leaders and the active chapter members are excited about the upcoming 100th anniversary celebration on February 27‑March 1, 2009. Alpha Xi (Cincinnati)
Active chapter size: 80; pledges: 34. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention. October 11, 2008, brought the annual Homecoming event at the University of Cincinnati. The float was a success as well as the alumni Homecoming tailgate, with twenty‑one alumni as well as many active chapter members in attendance.
Last academic quarter, Alex Hotte ‘06, Brad Stephens ‘06 and Danny Larsen ‘06 participated in the 2008 Lindner Honors‑PLUS International Program at the University of Cincinnati, visiting eight European countries in six weeks, including visits to cities such as Paris, Munich, Amsterdam and Geneva. After the trip concluded, Stephens and Hotte remained in Europe to tour Barcelona, Venice and Rome. Each year, the Lindner Honors‑PLUS program’s third year students participate in this study abroad program, and Pi Kappa Alpha has an impressive 24 out of approximately 60 males in the program.

Alpha Tau (Utah)
Active chapter size: 74; pledges: 34. The chapter sent two men to the 2008 International Convention. The 20th annual Kevin B. Kennedy Game Ball Run was held in November in conjunction with the University of Utah vs. Brigham Young University rivalry football game. On the Friday evening prior to the game, the men started the relay at Rice‑Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and carried the rivalry game ball 70 miles to Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo. All proceeds from this event go to Camp Hobé, an annual summer camp for kids with cancer and their siblings. Camp Hobé’s mission is to create an atmosphere that enhances self‑esteem, fosters independence and friendships and offers a sense of belonging.
Alpha Upsilon (New York)
Active chapter size: 103; pledges: 20. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention and five men to the Hartford Leadership Summit.
Alpha Phi (Iowa State)
Active chapter size: 52; pledges: 10. The chapter sent one man to the 2008 International Convention and seven men to the Omaha Leadership Summit. The chapter has been working with a few alumni on recruitment strategy and planning. They appreciate the alumni support they receive, and enjoyed seeing the alumni who attended the pre‑game tailgate party which was held at the chapter house in October.
Alpha Chi (Syracuse)

Alpha Psi (Rutgers)
Active chapter size: 41; pledges: 5. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention. Over thirty alumni attended the tailgate party that the chapter hosted prior to the 2008 Homecoming game. This successful event had approximately 150 people in attendance. On April 11, 2009, the chapter will hold the second annual Pike Dream Girl Pageant at the Rutgers Student Center. They expect more than 300 people to attend the pageant, and the proceeds from the event will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
