Kappa Alpha (Illinois State)
Active chapter size: 69; pledges: 22. The chapter sent one man to the 2008 International Convention. Kappa Alpha Chapter received the 20/20 recruitment award from the International Fraternity for their 2007‑08 recruitment accomplishments. In another accomplishment, the chapter won the Illinois State University Intramural Athletics Supremacy Cup for 2007‑08. This fall the chapter initiated their 550th brother and they look forward to the continued success of the chapter. Kappa Gamma (Florida International)
Active chapter size: 85; pledges: 7. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention.
Kappa Delta (Northeastern)
Active chapter size: 66; pledges: 17. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention and two men to the Hartford Leadership Summit. Kappa Delta continued to make strides in branding Pike by having one logo throughout campus, on shirts, flyers, and Facebook ads. The chapter also began utilizing an automated text messaging service to alert potential rushees of upcoming events during the semester. The Kappa Delta Chapter is proud to announce that Homecoming weekend the Kappa Delta Alumni Association charter was signed. The money for the charter was paid for by the undergraduate brothers. This semester the chapter donated over $2,000 to the Light the Night Foundation, and over $2,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the sale of “Pretty in Pike” pink t‑shirts to girls around campus. The second annual PIKEtoberfest, featuring the nationally known band Boys Like Girls as the headliner, was a great success and was attended by over 2,000 Northeastern students.

Kappa Zeta (Louisville)
Active chapter size: 55; pledges: 37. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention.
Kappa Eta (New Mexico State)
Active chapter size: 70; pledges: 29. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention. The chapter has been active in multiple projects throughout the community including a canned food drive competition among the Greek community, where Kappa Eta Chapter collected more than 1,000 pounds of food. The chapter house is undergoing some improvements to the common room and the chapter room. The active chapter is working to involve alumni in chapter news, and they are supportive of the group currently in the process of establishing a Kappa Eta Alumni Association.

Active chapter size: 52; pledges: 33.The chapter sent two men to the 2008 International Convention and ten men to the Hartford Leadership Summit. A new rush program was implemented this year which helped the chapter pledge a great group of men. Kappa Theta’s annual broomball event attracted over 40 potential rushes. The chapter sent eight men to the George Mason University’s annual Leadership Mason Conference which focuses on leadership skill development and education through large and small group workshops. Pike was the only fraternity to send men to the conference.

Lambda Delta (Vermont)
Active chapter size: 53; pledges: 19. The chapter sent two men to the 2008 International Convention and nineteen men to the Hartford Leadership Summit. Last year, the Lambda Delta Chapter obtained a GPA over 3.0, and this fall they wanted to exceed that GPA. The chapter implemented mandatory library hours for brothers with less than a 2.5 GPA, and presented awards to brothers with exceptional scholastic achievement. The 2008 alumni weekend was held in October, with over thirty alumni in attendance, including two founding fathers. Weekend activities included a pig roast, an alumni‑undergrad dodge ball tournament, a golf outing and dinner at a local restaurant. In community service, the brothers of the Lambda Delta Chapter participated in a 24 hour bike‑a‑thon to raise money for ALS Research. With the help of UVM students and local stores in the Burlington area, Pi Kappa Alpha at UVM was able to raise over $1,000. This successful event received coverage on the local news. The chapter stresses the importance of campus involvement, and each brother of Pi Kappa Alpha is involved in at least one club on campus. In addition, more than 10% of the brothers are enrolled in the Honor’s College at the University of Vermont. Five Lambda Delta brothers are on the Student Government Association, including the current chair of finance. Both the vice president of programming and the vice president of finance for the IFC are brothers of the Lambda Delta Chapter. Three brothers work as representatives for the University Admissions Office. Lambda Delta also has several campus club presidents. A brother of the Lambda Delta Chapter was instrumental in founding AERO (Alternative Energy Racing Organization). Among various other awards, they won Chrysler’s Best Hybrid System Engineering Award, and the Thayer School Dean’s Award: Most Innovative Design. The Lambda Delta Chapter has participated in a variety of intramural sports such as soccer, flag‑football, and broomball, and every team made the playoffs. Two brothers are on the UVM club football team, including the starting quarterback, and seven brothers are on the UVM rugby team, a top 20 team in the country.

Lambda Zeta (Drexel)
Active chapter size: 80. The chapter sent six men to the 2008 International Convention and seventeen men to the Hartford Leadership Summit.
Lambda Eta (William Woods)
Active chapter size: 17; pledges: 21. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention and four men to the Omaha Leadership Summit.
Lambda Theta (Dayton)
Active chapter size: 70; pledges: 2. The chapter sent one man to the 2008 International Convention.
Lambda Iota (Central Oklahoma)
Active chapter size: 82; pledges: 43. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention. Once again the chapter signed the most men during rush this fall, and they had the top all‑fraternity grades for spring 2008. The chapter is expanding the Dodgeball for the Kids tournament this year to raise more money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. On campus, the men participated in the Shack‑a‑Thon, and 21 of the campus orientation leaders are Pikes. The men won the university’s Outstanding Community Service Award. The chapter is tied for first place in the IFC flag football tournament, and one brother won a majority of the swimming events.
Lambda Kappa (Charleston)
Active chapter size: 77; pledges: 16. The chapter sent one man to the 2008 International Convention.
Lambda Lambda (California‑Irvine)
Active chapter size: 109; pledges: 19. The chapter sent ten men to the 2008 International Convention. The Lambda Lambda Chapter started off the school year with a very successful fall rush by hosting a variety of events which included pizza night at Lampost pizza, playing pool at Red Barn Billards as well as a poker tournament for the rushees and the active membership. Overall, the recruits are solid individuals who show great academic success in school and a passion to better Pi Kappa Alpha and themselves. In the spring quarter of 2008 the chapter continued to host study hours and provided an award for the individuals who had the highest GPA and the greatest improvement in their cumulative GPA. All in all, the chapter had a GPA of 2.95, which was above the all men’s and all Greek’s average. This year, the chapter is putting a greater emphasis on community service hours, and has adopted a policy encouraging each member to complete 35 community services hours a quarter. The chapter has recently hosted three community service events that included members volunteering at a local museum, a beach cleanup, and members volunteered at the Long Beach Marathon, in addition to supporting three brothers who ran in the event.
Lambda Mu (Embry‑Riddle)
Active chapter size: 39; pledges: 32. The chapter sent four men to the 2008 International Convention and thirty men to the Tampa Leadership Summit.
Lambda Nu (Boston)
Active chapter size: 45; pledges: 32. The chapter sent three men to the 2008 International Convention and thirteen men to the Hartford Leadership Summit.
Lambda Xi (Florida Gulf Coast)
Active chapter size: 93; pledges: 27. The chapter sent two men to the 2008 International Convention and seven men to the Tampa Leadership Summit.
Lambda Omicron (Rogers State)
Active chapter size: 24. The chapter sent six men to the 2008 International Convention. Lambda Omicron painted the local Big Brothers Big Sisters office, and participated in a Halloween event for the agency. The event included a carnival that featured games, face painting, a costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest. The chapter also held the fifth annual Trail of Terror in October and held a canned food drive. To serve their campus community, the men helped with a fundraiser to buy new playground equipment for the university daycare, and they also helped build a sandbox for the daycare. Six brothers participated in the JRDF Walk‑a‑Thon in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On campus, the men are represented on the student government with six men serving as senators, as well as the SGA president and treasurer being Pikes. Lambda Omicron has three brothers fighting overseas, and their thoughts and prayers are continually with them. Their most recent brother to be deployed, Chris Unruh ’07, was deployed to Kuwait on September 15, 2008 with the United States Air Force. Prior to his deployment, Unruh was a very active chapter member and his brothers look forward to his safe return.
Lambda Pi (Hofstra University)
Active chapter size: 34. The chapter sent six men to the 2008 International Convention and six men to the Hartford Leadership Summit. The undergraduate brothers joined with the alumni brothers at a November 2008 banquet to celebrate the anniversary of the chapter’s chartering.
