Richard Ogle ’61 has merged his practice with the law firm of Christian & Small, L.L.P. in Birmingham. He will continue to specialize in business litigation and alternative dispute resolution. A past president of the Birmingham Bar Association, Brother Ogle was recently chosen for inclusion in the publication Best Lawyers in America for the 10th consecutive year. He was also recently selected as an Alabama Superlawyer. Ogle previously served Pi Kappa Alpha as National President.
Barry Phelps ’84 recently became the managing writer-editor for the United States Mint’s Office of Sales and Marketing, Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining the Mint, Phelps served in various writing and communications positions with the Department of Homeland Security, Vice President Al Gore’s National Partnership for Reinventing Government, Small Business Administration, and U.S. Senate. His projects at the U.S. Mint include the popular 50 State Quarters, Presidential/First Spouses and Native American $1 Coins, and 2009 Double Eagle Gold Coin Programs.
Andrew Sorensen ’99 has resigned as the University of South Carolina president, a position he had held since 2002. Sorensen remains at USC as an instructor in the College of Medicine. Morgan Belden ’03 graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and is currently working towards his master’s in Engineering Management. This past summer Belden finished OCS with the United States Army Reserves. When not being a weekend warrior, he works for Boeing in Huntsville.
Trip Edington ’01 graduated in May 2008 with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. After seven years of college, he has joined the Peace Corps and will be stationed in Mongolia for 27 months.
Damien Galzi ’06 graduated in 2008 with a PhD in Electrical Engineering and has returned to Paris, France, to pursue his career. While in Huntsville, he was a founder of the band Milestone, which still has Theta Pi connections through band members Lance Price ’07 and Sandee Satterfield, the wife of Ken Satterfield ’87.

Terence “TB” Brent Clark ’53, a retired mechanical engineer, is living in Berryville, Arkansas with his Dream Girl, Kathleen. They have three children, Cynthia, Constance, and Christa.
George Coffman ’60 retired as a Major with the Arkansas State Police. He is currently the chairman of Commercial Transportation for Executive Consultants, Inc., LLC.
Joe C. Culp ’52 retired as president of the Telecommunications Group, Rockwell, International. He lives in Austin, Texas.
Leif Eriksson ’73 has had a busy 35 years since his initiation. After graduation he returned to Sweden for medical school, graduating in 1980. He stayed on at the university hospital in Lund in southern Sweden to become a specialist in respiratory medicine. He became the medical director of the lung transplant program at the hospital and also the director of the adult Cystic Fibrosis center. Eriksson wrote a thesis on lung transplantation and spent a year in post doctoral studies in Melbourne, Australia. Two years ago he made a career change when he was offered a job in the pharmaceutical industry where he now works in early drug development at AstraZeneca in Lund. Richard Goff ’62 is in the public warehousing business in Little Rock, Arkansas. Customers include Maybelline, L’Oreal, Tyson, IP, and Wal-Mart. He and his wife, Linda, have five children: Richard Jr., Michael, Mark, Kerby, and R. Hunter.
Richard Neil Haley ’71 is the senior structural engineer for Hawker Beechcraft. He and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Garrett and Gayle.

Gary Karnes ’68 suffered a personal tragedy when one of his sons, Jack, predeceased him. His son Jordan Karnes is a 2001 initiate of Alpha Zeta Chapter.
George Kok ’44, Arkansas’ first 7’ center on the basketball team, is retired and living in Louisville, Kentucky. He is an original member of the UA Wall of Fame.
William Neubert ’57 is an electrical engineer and computer systems engineer, as well as web master for Alpha Zeta. He and his wife, Willie, have one son, Steven.
Blake Schultz ’46 is a UA Wall of Fame inaugural member. He is a retired pilot, and was head of operations for American Airlines at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport at the time of his retirement.

He enjoys fly fishing, reading, traveling, an occasional round of golf, church activities, time with his family, and anything Auburn. CENTRAL ARKANSAS James Welch ’94 is completing a masters in Public Administration at Georgia State University as part of the Army Advanced Civil Schooling program. While completing his graduation requirements, he is working with the American Red Cross, Service to Armed Forces Department, in order to expand the organization’s outreach to military hospitals programs and increase the number of Red Cross volunteers assisting wounded, ill and injured veterans in VA medical facilities.
