EPSILON OMEGA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
East Central
The second annual alumni reunion was held on August 2, 2008, with many alumni turning out to see one another, including approximately 25 former SMCs. Brothers from the 1960s-2004 were in attendance, and the group had a charter signing ceremony for the newly formed Epsilon Omega Alumni Association. During the evening the association accepted contributions to the ECU Foundation to go towards the James R. “Doc” Harris Scholarship at ECU. As an added attraction to the evening, Chuck Allan Floyd ’92, played an acoustic set during the party. Information on upcoming alumni association events may be found at ECUPIKES@gmail.com.
In response to the information that was sent out prior to the reunion, Robert Zink ’89 received this letter:
Brother,
My name is Raymond E. Hopkins. I was initiated into the great brotherhood of Pi Kappa Alpha in the fall of 2006 with the pledge class Gamma Delta. I am inactive at this point due to my current deployment to Iraq with the Oklahoma Army National Guard. I will be unable to make the reunion due to the same reason. The enclosed $500 donation to the scholarship fund is just my way of giving back to this great fraternity for the things it has given me. I was only able to spend a year as an active member, but in that year I made some friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime, learned a thing or two about life in general and had a few drinks and good times along the way.
I may never return to an active status with the fraternity, but I will always be here for it and my brothers, as it and the brothers in it have been there for me. I hope the donation can be put to good use.
In the Bonds,
Spc. Hopkins, Raymond E. - RHhoppy@yahoo.com
